A man entered alligator-infested waters to save a bald eagle. Doug Hay noticed the bird in distress in a Florida lake and immediately made the decision to become a hero. Hay had seen alligators in the lake behind his Lakewood Ranch home before. The eagle fought Hay as he was saving it. It even whacked him in the head with its wing. Doug had to crawl out of the lake on all fours. Hay spoke with Inside Edition’s Alison Hall.
