4. SOUNDBITE (English) Paul Feig, director – on if there were any distractions promoting the film as Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have filed lawsuits against each other:
(Reporter: “Obviously, this is one of the most anticipated sequels in a long time, but I’d be remiss to not say there were some distractions over the last couple of months. How did that affect you?")
“Oh, nothing. We’re fine. I mean everybody’s, you know, everybody’s just doing their thing. We had such a great time making this and you know people are so excited about the movie that that’s all that matters.”

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Paul Feig, director – on Feig previously saying he’s not a fan of sequels:
“Well, you know, I mean, sequels in general are really hard and I’ve seen so many sequels I’ve gone, ‘Oh, I wish they didn’t make that.’ So – but I love these characters so much and it felt like there’s more we could do with them. And so we thought, let’s just dive in. And we, you know, we worked on this script for a long time to get it right and just kind of looking at what the fans loved about the first one and going, okay, let’s pay that off and then give them a lot of new stuff, too.”

(Reporter: “This is highly anticipated, but I’d be remiss to not say there were some distractions. Did that affect you at all?")
“Um, no. (laughs) No. If you’re talking about the distractions of Allison Janney asking me to go shopping with her in the streets of Rome, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the shopping. I liked watching her shop. I would do it again in any major city, Allison, or even a small city.”
(Reporter: “No other distractions though?”)
“No!” (laughs)

“He’s the best. Paul is such a generous director and always knows best, but he also will allow you to kind of improvise and play around and, you know, do some things. But always his ideas, you know, are the best. So, you learn pretty quickly, I learned pretty quick, like, I don’t really need to help this guy out with too much improvising because he knows what he’s doing.”

STORYLINE:
Blake Lively attended the New York premiere of her new movie “Another Simple Favor" on Sunday.
Lively is beginning to make appearances again after her “It Ends With Us” director and co-star Justin Baldoni filed lawsuits against each other.
Lively attended the festival with husband Ryan Reynolds at her side.
Directed by Paul Feig, “Another Simple Favor" is the sequel to 2018’s "A Simple Favor" and sees Lively and Anna Kendrick reprise their roles in the comedy thriller.
