STORYLINE:
An Israeli drone attack struck an area in Khan Younis on Monday afternoon.
It is not yet clear whether the bombing resulted in any deaths or injuries.
In the immediate aftermath, dozens of Palestinians rushed to the site of the explosion to offer assistance.
An ambulance also arrived at the scene.
Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip overnight into Monday killed at least 27 Palestinians, according to local health officials.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
Israel has carried out daily strikes on Gaza since ending its ceasefire with Hamas last month.
