1. Wide of the 7th Annual Superhero Reveal
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Evelyn Iocolano, executive director & co-founder of Lollipop Theater Network:
"Today is the seventh annual Lollipop Superhero reveal at Harmony Gold and we are about to reveal six amazing, strong, magical superheroes. They’re pediatric patients from the LA area who have been working with the Costume Designers Guild for the past three or four months to create a one-of-a-kind costume based on their own idea, their own vision of who they are as a superhero. So the costumes, we’ll see, they’ve had a hand in developing and their powers they’ve developed, their names they’ve develop, and today then we’re gonna surprise them with a movie poster version of their superhero alter ego."
3. Various of introduction of superhero ‘Green Beacon’
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Arıyela Wald-Cohain, costume designer:
"So this year I got James, whose super power is, he’s the ‘Green Beacon’, and his super power, is that he builds houses, and he then he sprinkles this glitter, green glitter over the houses to protect them. He’s a little bit of an imagineer. So he has all these gadgets, and we 3D-designed him a jet pack on his back, and he has a launch button on his arm for the jet pack, and I had him sign a form promising that he would not launch the jetpack during the event, which made him giggle a lot. He’s got a little pickaxe that we designed as well, just because he needs tools to design these homes. He has a harness and he loved the color green, obviously that’s ‘Green Beacon’. He’s a Minecraft fan, so there’s a little bit of nod to Minecraft in the colors and so on. And it was just a pleasure. I mean, he’s not, he was very quiet at the beginning, didn’t really, I don’t think he really understood what was going on. There was a camera, people were videoing, he was a little intimidated. I brought a sketchbook with some markers and I asked him to start coloring in this little superhero that I drew to try and see what colors he liked and he immediately opened up and just like started telling me what he wants and he started designing. He was very particular about what he wanted. Some kids don’t always know exactly what they want they’re open to you know what you want but he knew exactly the gadgets and the gizmos and then I came up with some ideas and we went back and forth and very wonderful family and very sweet kid."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Evelyn Iocolano, executive director & co-founder of Lollipop Theater Network:
"Gosh, seeing how confident and empowered and inspired and happy these children are when they see the superhero version of themself is one of the most inspirational things for me and I’m going to try not to cry now. But they go from sometimes being incredibly shy kids and then once they have on their costumes maybe they have lots of muscles, they come out and they just literally astonish me with the poise, you know, that they walk out into the world. And that’s what superheroes do, right? Superheroes make the powerless feel powerful, and that’s what we’re trying to do here with these kids."
