"I grew in a pretty religious house. My mom did puppet ministry, my aunt is a minister, and she had a group of clowns for Christ. So I grew up in a very religious house, but as I got older, I didn’t find my place in going to church. I just didn’t, I don’t know, it just wasn’t something that I felt like I wanted to continue with. But when I moved to Charleston, South Carolina, I just started to see all the churches around and I was like, oh, I’m curious of like what church is like now, like how has it changed since I was a kid and, you know, and I started kind of reading about these mega churches and then seeing stuff and then getting in it and it just, yeah, it was interesting. I felt like it kind of was reflective of just like America in a way that everything is sort of like turned into a money game and, uh, you now, it’s not like all churches are mega churches by any means, but it’s like even the idea that like we could take something like religion and ultimately turn it into a corporation and you know we’re like churches have to make a certain amount of money to stay open."
