And it’s more lies coming out this time around. I’m probably, it’s going to be a silent majority, so it’s going to be very interesting this afternoon or tonight when they’re counting."

STORYLINE:
Australians in Bangkok voted in their general election on Saturday as polls close early evening in Australia.

Polling booths were set up at the Australian Embassy, with voters arriving Saturday morning to cast their ballot.

"I haven’t liked the lies of Albanese when he first got in three years ago," said 68-year-old retiree Ray, who moved to Thailand, adding that he felt part of a "silent majority."

"I also think we’re in a very difficult geopolitical climate, so I think it’s a very important election that we get that right and we have someone elected that can take care of things on a global level," said Selena Marr, an Australian working in Bangkok.

Australians were also able to enjoy the tradition of the democracy sausage at the embassy, with a grill station set up nearby.

The grilled sausage wrapped in a slice of white bread and often topped with onions and ketchup is a regular fixture of Antipodean public life.

Father and son Martin and Max Nicholls enjoyed their sausages after voting.
