STORYLINE:
As tensions between Pakistan and India continue to rise, the brunt of the impact is being borne by residents of the border regions in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where people say they have been forced to abandon their homes in search of safety.
These vulnerable communities often seek shelter with relatives living further inland, away from the immediate threat of cross-border conflict.
"People living along the LOC (Line of Control) are facing problems and evacuating the area due to the current situation," said another local, Raja Danial Pervaiz.
"Daily life in Kashmir is miserable,” he added.
In contrast, life in other parts of Kashmir appears largely unaffected.
In Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, markets remain busy, with the usual hustle and bustle reminiscent of the days before the latest escalation.
Shops are open, streets are active, and daily life continues much as before.
However, local authorities have taken some precautionary measures, such as temporarily closing schools in anticipation of further developments.
