"When here, on the Maidan, four leaders extended their hand to him (Putin) and he actually rejected it… It’s just his nature, because it seems as if he was forced and confronted with a fact, and he is a stubborn and worthless person, he will not go for it. He will offer something of his own to be met, not the other way around. So I think the process has already begun and it will not stop. But it will not be as we would like it to be – quickly, today, now, so that on Monday at 12:00 there is peace for 30 days and then all this would be resolved in negotiations in detail. But we will wait for other decisions, and I think they will be positive, at least I hope so."

"Today, my wife woke up and I woke up at 3 a.m., I see that she is watching YouTube. I asked her what happened to keep you awake? And she replies: “I’m worried, I’m afraid of Oreshnik.” Because there were talks that there would be an attack and that’s why she was awake. I told her to go to bed, if it hasn’t happened yet, it won’t. And she fell asleep. And when she woke up, it turned out that there really was no attack on Kyiv, as usual. This means that the process has begun. It is going on somewhere. There are the seeds of it. So let’s hope. It is a difficult process, I do not hope for any easy results, but there will be. The war will end sooner or later anyway, and I would like to witness it. I am already a person with experience, and I would like my generation to be able to witness it as well."

STORYLINE:
Kyiv residents reacted early Monday to Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s offer to meet Putin face-to-face in Turkey.
Russia launched more than 100 Shahed and decoy drones at Ukraine in nighttime attacks, the Ukrainian air force said Monday, after the Kremlin rejected an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in the more than three-year war.
