And I was just in such shock and in such awe that the president himself called me and took the time to let me know that my family was coming back together. And for that, I will forever be grateful that we have an administration that is reuniting families. There was not only just my parents’ clemencies that happened today, but I think there was at least 10, 15, 20 others that happened today. And there are a lot of families that are rejoicing getting their loved ones back.”

“This clemency process is for individuals who have served their time, who have been rehabilitated, who maybe just the punishment didn’t fit the crime. So I truly believe that Ed Martin, Alice Johnson, the president, everyone in the pardon office, they’re going to stand firm in their promises that they’ve made to us.”

STORYLINE:
President Donald Trump has pardoned reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley three years after they were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion.
The celebrity couple are best known for the TV series “Chrisley Knows Best.” Trump pardoned them Wednesday, paving the way for their release from separate prison facilities in Pensacola, Florida, and Lexington, Kentucky.
Federal prosecutors said at the couple’s 2022 trial that the Chrisleys conspired to defraud Atlanta area banks of $30 million and tried to hide their earnings from tax authorities.
The Chrisleys’ daughter, Savannah, a vocal Trump supporter, has complained the case against her parents was politically motivated. They were indicted in 2019 under a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney, Byung J. “BJay” Pak.
