STORYLINE:
Falling debris from a destroyed Ukrainian drone hit an apartment block in southwest Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Thursday.
No one was injured in the attack, and the building was not seriously damaged, he said.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense said Thursday that it had destroyed 48 Ukrainian drones overnight, including three in the Moscow region.
Russian news outlets also reported that debris had fallen on the suburb of Odintsovsky, west of Moscow.
The area is near the capital’s Vnukovo Airport, where flights were temporarily grounded, according to Russia’s federal aviation agency, Rosaviatsiya.
