A federal judge sentenced disbarred celebrity lawyer Tom Girardi to seven years and three months in prison on Tuesday for embezzling tens of millions of dollars from his clients.
Girardi gained fame after winning a massive settlement from a California utility in a case that inspired the movie "Erin Brockovich." The 86-year-old later became famous outside the legal world as the ex-husband of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Erika Jayne.
