"No matter where, no matter how, Trump and his administration targets any vulnerable community, we will show up. We will resist. STORYLINE:
President Donald Trump’s new ban on travel to the U.S. by citizens from a dozen countries took effect on Monday.
The ban targeting mainly African and Middle Eastern countries kicked in amid rising tension over the president’s escalating campaign of immigration enforcement.
Immigrant rights advocates held a media briefing Monday in San Francisco, California to condemn the ban.
Mohammed Cheikh of the Arab Resource and Organizing Center described it a “brutal escalation” and called for resistance.
District 5 Supervisor Bilal Mahmood denounced the policy and announced plans to introduce legislation supporting protest rights and expanding immigrant legal defense services.
