Tape One
1. Sit down interview with Richard Gere. Including soundbites:
"My Dad wasn’t like that, he was much more open, I never felt pushed by him. I always felt that he did his best to always give us all the opportunities and there were music lessons and we did sports after school and he certainly encouraged us to do anything that made us happy, but no sense of stage mother stage father there. I remember when I wanted to be an actor, I mean they were terrified for me that it wouldn’t turn out that well, that I would be unhappy and I would have bad things happen to me."
"She and I have known each other for some time, not really well, years ago she came to stay at my house with an old boyfriend of hers and I hadn’t seen her in a while but I thought she was so perfect for this movie. I was delighted that she would do it. Obviously we have a very difficult relationship in this film and it was a bit painful exploring that. There were several scenes that didn’t make it into the movie that were pretty explosive, difficult scenes but that is probably the most dysfunctional relationship in this movie, between she and I."
"I don’t care about spelling, I’m a terrible speller. I’m definitely the worst speller in this room, there’s eight people in this room and i’m definitely the worst one in the room."
Tapes Two and Three
1. Sit down interview with Flora Cross and Max Minghella. Including soundbites:
Flora Cross: "I think I would like them to walk out of the movie and to say to each other that the movie about winning it’s about the family, that Eliza is trying to make them united again and that it is the family that is really important not winning."
Flora Cross: "He made us really welcome, not nervous, he made me not nervous at all, it was just like I was an actor."
Max Minghella: "Yes, he walked us through it and held our hands. It was great to be around somebody who works that hard an is such a serious actor. I mean besides being a movie star Richard is really committed to the technique of what he does and it’s great to be around that and witness that and get that influence".
Flora Cross: "I’m a really bad speller, horrible and I just memorised it so it wasn’t hard at all to memorise."
