STORYLINE:
Security forces were on alert Sunday as the Group of Seven summit prepared to kick off in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
A security checkpoint was put in place on the isolated road that leads to the resort in Kananaskis where the meetings will take place.
The isolated resort is nestled among towering mountains, rivers and trees.
Meanwhile, the resort town of Banff, where some auxiliary G7 events will happen, was bustling Sunday with tourists.
Local authorities have designated a parking lot in Banff where demonstrations will be allowed.
