"Paris Air Show is not only promoting, which is already an act of complicity, but also accepting companies, delegations, and intermediaries that are still delivering weapons to Israel, not only Israeli delegations, but also from all over the world.

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Caroline, (no surname given), coordinator of Law and Social Movements:
"By taking some measures, putting some black tissues on some weapons only, that we are convinced that there is no complicity from this Paris Air Show. So we’re going to go before the (French) Supreme Court now, we are determined to make those companies respect law."

8. SOUNDBITE (French) Julie (no surname given), member of Les Soulèvements de la Terre:
“Today, all international jurisdictions recognize that there is an ongoing genocide or risk of genocide in Gaza. France is complicit in this genocide today. What happened this morning is trivial. It is truly a form of hypocrisy from the French government, which on one hand says, "Look, we will surround the stands with black cloth, etc." But on the other hand, continues to welcome Israeli delegations and companies to France today, allowing them to operate with impunity, secure contracts, make profits, meet various delegations, and conduct their business without any consequences."

10. SOUNDBITE (French) Julie (no surname given), member of Les Soulèvements de la Terre:
"With this gathering, what we want to denounce is the Bourget Air Show, which we call the death show, the genocide show, held a few kilometers from Paris. It will allow industrialists, start-ups, and military leaders from around the world to come and trade a number of weapons, including bombers, drones, and missiles that will inevitably fall on people."

STORYLINE:
Activist groups staged a protest Monday outside the opening of the Paris Air Show, denouncing the participation of Israeli defense companies amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
They accused the French government of complicity in enabling arms deals with a country they say is committing acts of genocide.
Dozens of activists gathered near the gates of Le Bourget, where the international aerospace exhibition opened under heightened scrutiny.
French authorities ordered black partition walls to be erected around Israeli defense booths during the night, an apparent attempt to separate them from other exhibitors. Israel’s Defense Ministry immediately condemned the measure and demanded that the barriers be removed.
A French appeals court had ruled Friday against a request from activist organizations seeking to block Israeli companies from the show, despite mounting criticism over the war in Gaza.
Julie, a member of Les Soulèvements de la Terre who co-organized the protests, said: “What we’re denouncing with this action is what we call the death fair, the genocide fair just a few kilometers from Paris."
“Today, every international jurisdiction recognizes that a genocide or the risk of genocide is taking place in Gaza. France continues to host Israeli companies that will be able to sign deals and profit in full impunity," she added.
