“My friend, manager and Iranian police have advised me to leave with my family as soon as possible today, as the situation is becoming dangerous in district 3 after some tweets by Netanyahu regarding an attack. I don’t know, they just informed me something about that. So I left that area and went to the Pakistan embassy. We left everything behind as we are family members, and we carried one bag containing some necessities and some food items. We are five family members, but we carried just one bag; we just left and left everything else there.”

STORYLINE:
More than 300 Pakistani families, students and pilgrims arrived at the Taftan land border crossing with Iran in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Pakistani authorities said.

Pakistan’s embassy in Tehran is contacting and organising evacuations for citizens who want to leave Iran because of the conflict with Israel.

Ghulam Mustafa Ijaz, a Pakistani national working in the telecom sector, left Tehran along with his wife and three children.

The journeys from Tehran take up to 12 hours by road to reach the formal border crossings.

Others are making their own way out.

Pakistan says the repatriations are voluntary, and nobody is being forced to go.
