5. SOUNDBITE (English) Tom Barrack, US Ambassador to Turkey, and Special Envoy to Syria:
"So we’re here. We’re committed to help. We’re admirers of the administration and really of the Lebanese people. So what we have all together is hope. And that chaos will subside soon. And that out of that will come the blossoming of peace and prosperity in this desert which Lebanese bring all over the world. Everywhere I’ve been in the world there’s some Lebanese that created an oasis out of a desert. Now we need to do it here."

STORYLINE:
US Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack said it would be a “very bad decision” for Lebanon’s Hezbollah group if it intervened to support Iran’s militarily in its conflict against Israel.
Barrack made the remarks to journalists in Beirut Thursday after visiting top officials in Lebanon.
Iran-backed Hezbollah has condemned Israel’s surprise strikes on Iran that sparked the conflict and endorsed Iran’s missile barrages over Israel, but has stopped short of saying it will take military action.
"So what we have all together is hope and that chaos will subside soon and that out of that will come the blossoming of peace and prosperity in this desert which Lebanese bring all over the world,” Barrack told journalists after meeting with Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri.
