STORYLINE:
A total of 37 Palestinians were killed on Friday in the Gaza strip, including some in Israeli strikes and others while on their way to pick up aid, hospital officials said.
Officials at Al Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza said they have received since midnight Thursday the bodies of 14 people, including 11 who were killed in an airstrike on Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
It said the three others were killed near one of the aid distributing hubs in central Gaza, close to the Netzarim Corridor, a strip of land held by Israeli troops.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
Over the past days, witnesses claimed that Israeli troops opened fire as crowds tried to reach Israeli- and U.S.-supported food distribution centers in Gaza leaving dozens of people dead or wounded.
Palestinians say they face the choice of starving or risking death as they make their way past Israeli forces to reach the distribution points, which are run by a private contractor, Israeli-US backed, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
The Health Ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza says several hundred people have been killed and hundreds more wounded in such shootings since the centers opened.
Despite the Israel-Iran war that broke out a week ago, Israel operations in the Gaza Strip have continued.
