"He goes to face death just to make us happy with a little flour and a bag of pasta. There’s no work, and as you can see, the situation is difficult. So he goes out and brings simple things to make his children happy. We see death to eat bread."

"You enter the streets to arrive before the people, to the point of death as I call it, I call it the point of death, the tank is in front of us, the crane (machine gun) is in front of us and the quadcopter is above us, and there are soldiers on the ground with snipers, anyone who moves before the time is shot, and the moment the tank retreats, we start running, a long distance, about 600 meters, we run it from the place where we are to bring aid."

"Even though I was the first one, I looked and found people tearing up the boxes, people choosing the valuable things, taking the oil, Nutella, biscuits, ghee, sugar. My dream was to bring a biscuit, one biscuit, to bring it to my children, but I couldn’t."

"This box is supposed to reach us with all respect, why do we get it with this insult and go to die in order to bring a box with our sweat and blood, there are people who go and do not return, they die, and worse than this is that there are people here who when you see them killed or injured but you cannot save them, you want to save them but you are unable, you say this person will die, aid comes first."

17. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Jamil Atili, displaced Palestinian:
"I couldn’t bring anything, because they bring simple things and put them in a narrow place and all the people are on top of each other, people kill each other and die and fight with knives, and there are many thugs there, I was hit by a knife and I returned, and also the Americans spray gas that burns, blinds the eyes and you become unable to see, this is not a small suffering that we are going through, this is injustice."

"I came back crying. My children were waiting for me. How would I meet them? with a knife wound in my face? I was returning to my children with a knife wound in my face? How would I return to them?"
