"How do I feel right now? I am feeling a bit stressed right now, holding on a little, I can’t explain my feeling, because when we heard the booms, we thought it was coming into our house, and I live in this house and also I have a business here, which is a hair salon and boutique. So there was a loud explosion and it’s very scary and difficult and I don’t even have words. Thank you very much to God."

5. SOUNDBITE (Hebrew) Eyal Levy, Haifa resident:
"First of all, it was necessary for the United States to join, Israel does not have the bombs, as we know for the depth. We still don’t know, you know, there are currently conflicting reports in Iran, we don’t actually know as of today, whether it was truly completely destroyed or not, but I really hope that it is so, and we have reached a new Middle East where the axis of evil, as it’s called, is gone, and we are in a different place."

STORYLINE:
An Israeli rescue service said Iranian missiles struck areas in northern and central Israel after the U.S. carried out strikes on Iran overnight.
The Magen David Adom rescue service said one of those wounded was a 30-year-old man in moderate condition and the other 10 were lightly wounded.
In Haifa, where some buildings were struck, residents expressed shock but also support at the U.S. decision to join Israel’s war and deploy missiles against Iran.
Angelina Zorin, whose house and business are near where the strikes hit, recalled thinking the strike would hit inside her house when she heard a loud explosion. "It’s very scary and difficult and I don’t even have words," she said.
"It was necessary for the United States to join, Israel does not have the bombs, as we know, for the depth," said another Haifa resident, Eyal Levy. He said he hoped U.S. involvement would ensure "a new Middle East where the axis of evil, as it’s called, is gone."
Shortly after the Iranian missile barrage, Israel announced its warplanes were conducting strikes on “military targets” in western Iran, without immediately elaborating.
The United States has inserted itself into Israel’s war against Iran, bombing three of the Islamic Republic’s key nuclear sites overnight. U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that the sites were “completely and fully obliterated,” and warned there would be additional strikes if Iran retaliates.
The U.S. attacks came after a week of open conflict between Israel and Iran, sparked by Israel’s sudden barrage of attacks against Iran’s nuclear and military structure.
Israeli strikes began on June 13. Targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites, they killed several top military officials and nuclear scientists. Iran retaliated by firing hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel, some of which penetrated the country’s vaunted multi-tiered air defense system. The war so far has killed hundreds of people and wounded more than 1,000 in Iran and killed two dozen and wounded hundreds in Israel.
