"As somebody who has been a producer and I’ve done music director jobs and things like that, having the experience of watching Prince put a show together or a medley together or arrangement of a song together is something that you can’t even buy. I can take a million classes and go to college for this or that and play a million gigs for 20 years, but there’s nothing that would ever replace that experience and what I learned from it. But I think one of the biggest things was he just gave us confidence. You know, we were still in our 20s, and all of a sudden Prince is telling you that, like, you’re good. And he was really sweet that way and that, all of the sudden, you come out of that and you’re like, yeah, I do belong at this table."
