"A full capacity Glastonbury holds 210,000 people. That’s equivalent to the seventh largest city in the U.K.. The rest of the year, 1,000 live here in Pilton. That is equivalent to the number of cows that normally live in these fields. Where are they now? They’ve been set off for a short stay at the Moo-tel. Created in 1970 by Michael Eavis, Glastonbury is now the biggest greenfield music and art event in the world. It covers 1,00 acres, which is roughly the size of 500 soccer pitches. And it’s surrounded by an 8km fence. This year’s ticket sold out back in November in 35 minutes and that was before a single act was announced. So, you may be wondering – big crowds, lots of beer, how many toilets are there at Glastonbury? In fact there are over 4,000. Behind me is one of the infamous long drops. As you can see you can pee in the open air but just don’t look down. Largest crowd ever? Elton John’s farewell gig in 2023 had an estimated 120,000 people watching. I stood around here. And what artist is headlining Glastonbury the most? Coldplay, five times. 3,972 artists will perform at Glastonbury this weekend across 120 stages, only 21 of them get to perform on the iconic Pyramid Stage behind me. This year’s headliners include 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo. And there’s no fear of the beer running out, there’s 1.2 million pints of lager served over the weekend. And here’s mine. Cheers!"
