STORYLINE:
United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was in Louisiana on Friday as Governor Jeff Landry signed bills aligned with the Make America Healthy Again movement.

Nutrition experts have pushed back strongly against misconceptions in the legislation which includes banning seed oils from foods served in schools across the state.

A Democrat-led group with about 50 people protested against Kennedy’s visit outside the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge.

Lorraine Oshee helped organize Friday’s protest and says that Senate Bill 14, "has nothing to do with health of the people in this state."

She added, "if they were really worried about our health, they’d be in cancer alley."

Others at the protest like Susan Teddlie, feel their voices are not heard by the conservative state government.

"It’s so hard to have a voice unless you come out and do things like this", she said.
