”I often get expensive, branded shoes brought to me for repair, but the quality is not worth the money they pay. And then I wanted to make some shoes that will only be made of exclusive materials and not using standard shoes that have pressed cardboard inside, or insole, what you step on. ”My goal was for them to cost around 4- 5 thousand euros. However, during product development, we raised the price a few times until we reached the figure of 17 thousand euros – that is a profitable price – because product development is very expensive – from the box itself – there are two boxes, one is wooden and inside is a carbon box in which when a young lady who buys them or receives them as a gift, does not drag the whole wooden box with her down the road, but only a small carbon box in which the shoes are stored.”

STORYLINE:
It’s not quite Cinderella’s glass slipper, but it’s still a shoe fit for a fairytale princess.
These high heels are made with precious materials: gold plated soles and porcelain rose decorations.
The fancy footwear is the creation of Aleksandar Bracer, a third generation shoe-maker from the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad.
Designed for ladies “who walk on gold,” his high-heeled shoes are made to give an air of luxury but remain resilient and light to wear.
Bracer came up with the idea after seeing other luxury footwear that wasn’t well made.
”I often get expensive, branded shoes brought to me for repair, but the quality is not worth the money they pay. And then I wanted to make some shoes that will only be made of exclusive materials and not using standard shoes that have pressed cardboard inside, or branzol, what you step on. We used carbon, so we didn’t use anything cheap,” he explains.
It wasn’t easy or quick.
Bracer and his team spent five years trying out various combinations of materials.
Porcelain-only heels were easily breakable and too heavy, so he added carbon for both lightness and firmness.
Elegant and romantic at the same time, Bracer’s shoes have leather uppers and leather soles plated with 24 (23.75) carat gold, and porcelain roses attached to the heels made from made of carbon fibre and epoxy resin.
Delicately-crafted, the roses are made by a Hungarian company specializing in porcelain.
So far, Bracer has exhibited his shoes at Paris Fashion week and in Dubai, where he said they attracted much interest.
But these come at a cost.

But these are not for everyday wear – Bracer’s target market is for the most exclusive of events.
Handcrafted shoes for women who don’t mind that the cost is higher than the heels.
