Dozens dead after flash floods – Did the early warning systems fail? | DW News

Officials say that at least 27 people have been killed by severe flash flooding in the US state of Texas. Rescue teams are searching for more than 20 girls from a summer camp who are still unaccounted for.
The floods swept through south-central Texas, hitting Kerr County, which lies on the Guadalupe River. Residents were caught off guard when a month’s worth of rain fell in just a few hours.
