STORYLINE:
Oman’s Foreign Minister on Tuesday urged both the U.S. and Iran to set reasonable conditions and move forward negotiations.

Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi’s comments came at a joint news conference in Cairo Tuesday with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty.

They held meetings with delegates following tension escalation in the Middle East region after the 12-day Israel-Iran war.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza was also discussed, with Abdelatty reiterating the urgent need for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, saying that Israeli officials must make a decision quickly.

"The situation is extremely complex," he said, adding that a 60-day ceasefire would be the immediate step.
