"I didn’t, I was mostly suspicious that someone was pulling an elaborate prank on me. The first thing I said to James when he called me was, ‘Are you sure you’re James Gunn, can you prove that?’ But I was also, I felt like an astronaut being told that he was going to the moon. It was obviously a great sense of accomplishment having gotten the job but all the work still ahead and a great responsibility."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) James Gunn, director:
"Well, we did a raffle and David Corenswet, you know, he put in, he bought a lot of tickets and he won the raffle, and got to play Superman."
Reporter: "David said he didn’t believe you when you called him."
Gunn: "Yeah, he didn’t believe it was me. He thought I was faking."
