But a dialogue should be based on mutual respect and readiness to take each other’s concerns into account."

STORYLINE:
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reaffirmed the deployment of a foreign military contingent in Ukraine is unacceptable for Moscow.
Asked to comment on Macron’s comments about the future deployment of a European force to Ukraine, Peskov said Moscow was disappointed with the failure to take its signals on the issue.
“The issue is extremely important for our country, and the deployment of foreign military contingents in Ukraine near our borders is certainly unacceptable for us.”
He added “such European leaders’ persistence reflects the current militarist, confrontational and anti-Russian sentiments and we can only express regret about it.”
He reiterated Moscow is awaiting Ukraine’s proposals for the date of a new round of direct talks.
