“Yes, I think that it is, look I think it’s a huge loss for late-night and I think it’s huge loss of CBS, and I started my career at CBS. I was there for 10 years and I think it is a very sad day for CBS that they are getting out of the late night race. I mean, they are turning off the lights after the news."

STORYLINE:
Jamie Lee Curtis is speaking out against CBS’ planned cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s "Late Show."
The actor and producer noted in an interview in Los Angeles Thursday that the announcement of the show’s ending, set for next May, comes came as the U.S. House passed a bill approving Trump’s request to cut funding to public broadcasters NPR and PBS.
“They’re trying to silence people, but that won’t work. Won’t work. We will just get louder," said Curtis, who like Colbert has criticized Trump – and is set to visit Colbert’s show in coming days.
Andy Cohen, who began his career at CBS and now hosts “Watch What Happens Live,” said in an interview: “It is a very sad day for CBS that they are getting out of the late-night race. I mean, they are turning off the lights after the news.”
Jeff Goldblum, attending the same Las Culturistas Awards event with wife Emilie, has been a recurring guest on Colbert’s show and offered praise for the host.
“I love Stephen Colbert. I’m looking forward to one way or another being in constant contact with him and hearing from him in all his glory.”
CBS’s late-night departure comes amid the still-pending merger between CBS parent company Paramount Global and Skydance Media, a deal that will require regulatory approval.
