Why Zelenskyy reversed course on anti-corruption reform | DW News

This week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky faced huge protests after rushing through a law which stripped two anti-corruption agencies of their independence. He has since backtracked – telling Ukrainians their protests are "not falling on deaf ears." DW Business spoke with Anastassia Fedyk, Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Berkeley and a member of the non-profit "Economists for Ukraine" about Zelenskyy’s decision to reverse course, the problem of corruption and the strength of civil society in Ukraine.
