This is the real objective, to destroy any possibility of establishing a Palestinian state on the ground, and to push the Palestinian people into leaving their homeland — especially now, as preparations are underway for the international conference on the two-state solution."

"This decision, if implemented, would mean the liquidation of the Palestinian national cause and the Palestinians rights. Secondly, it represents a major call for the continuation of the cycle of violence and wars in the region. Thirdly, it effectively undermines the security and stability of both the region and the world."

STORYLINE:
A Palestinian political advisor in the foreign ministry in the West Bank says the Israeli parliament’s symbolic motion to annex the occupied territory is an “acknowledgment” of intentions to displace Palestinians and end any possibility of a Palestinian statehood.
"This is a clear and explicit declaration — an official Israeli acknowledgment of the goals behind the war of genocide, displacement and annexation carried out by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people," said advisor Ahmad al-Deek.
"It represents a major call for the continuation of the cycle of violence and wars in the region," he added.
Knesset lawmakers on Wednesday voted 71-13 in favor of the measure, which calls for "applying Israeli sovereignty to Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley” — the biblical terms for the area.
The declarative motion has no direct legal implications, although it could place the issue of annexation on the agenda of future debates.
