August 1 was supposed to be a make or break day for country’s doing business with the United States. US President Trump’s offer was clear: either negotiate a new trade deal with his team or face higher tariffs. Yesterday some key US trade partners such as Canada, India and Brazil were still without a new deal. Just hours before the deadline, the US President pushed it into the future.
