Romijin: "The first ‘X-Men’ movie didn’t get great reviews, but it didn’t matter because that’s when we realized that the fandom was speaking louder than the critics were, and that movie did so well and it was literally a shift where we realized right then because the internet was just taking over that the fans were way louder than critics were, and the critics didn’t matter to us anymore. It was the fans that were going to drive the popularity of that franchise and, you know, the internet’s a great place for the fans to get real loud about the things that they love so we’re very appreciative. The Trekkies are the most supportive. They call them the Trek Family. It’s a very loving fandom."
Peck: "And I believe that the fans can be credited with getting ‘Strange New Worlds’ off the ground. So when the three of us, Rebecca, Anson Mount, who plays Captain Pike, and myself were — appeared on ‘Discovery,’ I think the fans are a big reason that ‘Strange New World’ exists."
Romijin: "Yeah, they got they got loud about the spin-off."
