4. SOUNDBITE (English) Bobi Wine, Uganda’s Opposition Leader:
"The situation has gone from bad to worse in all aspects. Of course, the threats on my life have become even more, we have seen increased abductions, increased arrests, even increased murders. For example, we have a brother in Karamoja that was shot with more than 150 bullets. All this is meant to send fear down the nerves of all those who work with me and all those that stand for what I stand for. But also, our resistance has increased, we have had an increased membership, we have had increased speaking out and our resolve has become firmer.”

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Bobi Wine, Uganda’s Opposition Leader:
"The strategy is to continue telling the truth. The same truth we told yesterday, to continue drumming it down to the minds of the people because once an eye is open it can never be closed again. Our only, not only but out major weapon is the truth, fighting back with it."

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Bobi Wine, Ugandan Opposition Leader:
"I mean, lately you have seen Gen. Museveni walking around the ghettos dishing out cash, it is because he knows that the ghetto people feel exactly what I feel and I speak for them. So, he is trying to silence or blindfold them with those cash handouts which is not sustainable.”

11. SOUNDBITE (English) Bobi Wine, Uganda’s Opposition Leader:
"Museveni will not be removed by the vote alone. Many other things have to be added, but the legitimacy has to be earned because even if we picked up guns and kicked Museveni out, we will be just another group of violent people who will not have the legitimacy. We must get the legitimacy from the people, we must have people make a choice, which choice they will fight for if subverted. I would not discourage people from going to the polls, because in any case you have seen so many leaders claiming they don’t believe in elections but when it is election time, they are the first to register, they are the first to nominate."

14. SOUNDBITE (English) Bobi Wine, Ugandan Opposition Leader:
"It is a constant reminder that the threat is real because this is no ordinary person. This is a person that is not only the son of the person in charge of the country but he is also the person in charge of all the organs of violence – he heads the military, the police, the prisons, you know, he is above the law and he has acted as such and showed it. He has abducted my people including my personal bodyguard – held him under his basement, tortured him, stripped him, shaved him, taken pictures of his naked body and shared them on social media."
