“China is shocked by the U.S. sanctions against officials of the Palestinian Authority and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and is disappointed and unable to understand the U.S. side’s disregard for the efforts and appeals of the international community. The Palestinian issue is at the core of the Middle East issue and concerns international fairness and justice. At present, the Palestinian issue is at a critical historical juncture. The international community, especially the U.S., should uphold a fair, just, and responsible attitude, earnestly implement relevant United Nations resolutions, and make active efforts to promote a proper resolution of the Palestinian issue.”

“This is the latest evidence of the U.S. government’s malicious cyber attacks against China, once again demonstrating that the United States is the number one cyber threat facing China and exposing the hypocrisy of the U.S. in crying foul while engaging in cyber misconduct. China will continue to take necessary measures to safeguard its own cybersecurity.”

STORYLINE:
China on Friday reiterated that there will "no winner" in a tariff war following U.S. President Donald Trump’s executive order which set new tariffs on a wide swath of U.S. trading partners.
The order will go into effect on August 7 and came after a flurry of tariff-related activity in recent days, as the White House announced agreements with various nations and blocs ahead of Trump’s self-imposed August 1 deadline.
The vast majority of nations are continuing to face uncertainty ahead of the coming deadline.
China itself secured a fresh extension in its tariff truce with the U.S. after two days of talks in Sweden earlier this week.
Commenting on the latest order, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said that “China’s opposition to the abuse of tariffs is clear and consistent.”
“There is no winner in a tariff war or trade war. Engaging in protectionism hurts all parties’ interests,” he said.
Guo also slammed the U.S. for its latest sanctions on Palestinian Authority officials and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization, saying China is “shocked” and “disappointed” with this decision.
He urged Washington to take a “fair, just, and responsible” stance on the Palestinian issue and to uphold relevant U.N. resolutions.
The U.S. State Department said it would deny visas for travel to the U.S. by those it was targeting without specifying the names, citing their sabotage of peace efforts with Iran.
Separately, Guo welcomed a new report by the Cyber Security Association of China, which disclosed U.S. actors’ links with cyberattacks that targeted Chinese military companies.
According to the report, U.S. hackers exploited Microsoft Exchange flaws to control servers at a key defense company for nearly a year.
The revelation came just weeks after Microsoft said Chinese state-backed hacking groups had exploited vulnerabilities in its SharePoint platform.
