STORYLINE:
Palestinians gathered at a yard in Nasser hospital, Khan Younis, to perform funeral prayers for those who lost their lives seeking aid in the war-battered Gaza enclave.
Amid tears and exhaustion, grieving Palestinians, adults and children alike, bid farewell to their loved ones.
Maryam Abu Hatab, from Khan Younis said that Palestinian children were dying while others around the world enjoyed food and drink.
“We are unarmed people who cannot endure this," she lamented.
"We died from starvation and poverty and everything. We sacrifice everyday to get aid that is stained and soaked with blood, our blood," Abu Hatab yelled in despair.
Tens of Palestinian men prayed as the bodies of dead aid-seekers were lined up in the yard, amidst the screams and wails of mourning mothers.
Ekram Nasr, who lost her son as he went to seek aid from near the Morag corridor, says he was hit by a strike that cut him in half.
“People refused to carry him," she recounted.
"I had to go alone to carry my son. I put him on a wooden stretcher and pushed him like you push a donkey in the street. His legs were hanging from the wooden stretcher and only his head and back stayed on,” Nasr added despondently, with tears in her eyes.
“Starvation drives you toward these scums to die. The entire world is watching. They are watching our patience, our strength and our faith in God. But we no longer have the power to endure,” she said wearily.
