STORYLINE:
Families and friends gathered around the bodies of Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes and shootings in southern Gaza overnight and on Thursday.
The bodies that arrived at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis were wrapped in white body bags and put in the exterior area of the morgue where dozens prayed before they were sent for burial.
At least 37 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes and shootings across southern Gaza on Thursday, according to local hospitals. Many were seeking food around aid convoys entering Gaza, according to their relatives.
U.N. convoys have been repeatedly overwhelmed by desperate crowds in recent days, where witnesses say Israeli forces have repeatedly opened fire. People and health officials have also reported that the forces have shot towards crowds moving to aid sites of the GHF, the Israeli backed American company.
The Israeli military repeatedly said troops fired warning shots towards people that poses a threat.
The Israeli Security Cabinet is set to meet Thursday to discuss a possible expansion of military operations in the Gaza Strip, a move that would draw fierce opposition internationally and from many in Israel, including the families of hostages held by Hamas.
