Hurricane Erin Expected to Cause Dangerous Rip Currents on East Coast

Tropical storm Erin is powering across the Atlantic and is expected to become the first hurricane of the season. CBS meteorologist Tony Sadiku says Erin is not expected to make landfall in the United States, but it can still cause hazards along the East Coast. Authorities fear a replay of the rip tide conditions that hit the Jersey Shore earlier this week. There have been nearly 500 rescues along the famous shoreline in the past week, many involving swimmers caught in rip tides.
