1. Various of aid being dropped by airplanes over Gaza City
STORYLINE:
Pallets of aid continued to be airdropped into Gaza City on Thursday.
The U.N. and partners have called airdrops expensive, inefficient and even dangerous for people on the ground.
Aid groups continue to struggle to deliver supplies to Gaza, where most of the population is displaced, large swaths are in ruins and experts say the “worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out."
Israel imposed a full blockade in March, then allowed limited aid to resume two and a half months later.
At least 27 Palestinians were killed and more than 100 were wounded Wednesday at the Zikim crossing in northwestern Gaza as a crowd rushed toward a U.N. convoy transporting humanitarian aid, according to health officials.
The dead included people seeking aid and Palestinians guarding the convoy, officials said. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
