Thailand’s parliament has confirmed Anutin Charnvirakul as prime minister. He won 311 out of 492 votes in the lower house, exceeding the 247-vote threshold. His win follows an agreement with the country’s largest opposition bloc that he would hold early elections. Royal approval is needed before he can assume office.
