STORYLINE:
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday praised Serbia for not imposing sanctions against Moscow over the fighting in Ukraine.
His comments came during a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Beijing as the two leaders visited China to attend a massive military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Putin praised Vucic’s "independent foreign policy course", as the Serbian leader said his country had been "in a very difficult situation and under big pressure" since Kremlin sent troops into Ukraine.
Vucic vowed to maintain Serbia’s "military neutrality" as it refuses to impose sanctions on Russia.
