STORYLINE:
Director Cai Shangjun debuts “The Sun Rises on Us All” in competition at the Venice Film Festival on Friday afternoon.
The movie stars Xin Zhilei, Zhang Songwen, Feng Shaofeng walked the red carpet alongside Shangjun.
Xin Zhiliei and Zhang Songwen play a couple named Maiyun and Baoshu, with Baoshu taking the fall for his partner’s crime. Maiyun constantly battles for forgiveness and tries to get their lives back on track when he gets out of jail.
The actors were joined on the red carpet by Italian singer and songwriter Nino D’Angelo, who arrived with his entire family to premiere (out of competition) his biographical movie "Nino. 18 Giorni,” directed by his son Toni D’Angelo.
The winner of the festival’s top prize – the Golden Lion – will be announced on Saturday September.
