4. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Wafaa Abdullah, displaced woman from Jabaliya:
“They dropped leaflets on us saying evacuate immediately, telling us to head south. We got south and haven’t found a place. We now live on the street. As you can see, we are on the street, and the shells were falling behind us. We went to that place in the morning and the shells fell next to us. We fled here to the street. There are no toilets, no water tanks, no life.”

“We are afraid for our children, afraid for ourselves from the shells, there is no safe place. There is no life here, there are no basic necessities of life. We hope that they will provide us with better places and a better life than this. We hope that our children will live like the rest of the children of the world who live in safety. We live in terror, fear, our children are afraid. They are afraid when they hear the sound of a missile, they are afraid when they hear the sound of the aircraft. Even water is not available, we cannot find food. We ask the entire Arab, Islamic and foreign nations to stand with us and help us and to stop this war.”

“We are sitting here under the mercy of our Lord, under the sun, between the mountains. We have no water, we have no food. I swear to God, I swear to God, that I do not have a shekel to buy food. I have not had breakfast yet. I swear to God that I have not had breakfast. I slept in the street tonight. Who would accept that I sleep in the street? No water, no food, no bathrooms. We cannot have a personal life.”

“They should provide us with places. There are no tents, no food, no aid. They make fun of us. There is no aid. Aid doesn’t reach us. Aid goes to thieves who coordinate with each other. Whoever doesn’t have young men can’t get aid. Aid doesn’t come in. They are lying to us. Everything is expensive. We don’t have money to buy. We don’t know how to work. I tell myself to go to Morag (corridor). I wish I could get anything. I wish I could get a can of tuna, I wish I could get a can of meat.”

STORYLINE:
Displaced Palestinians from northern Gaza struggled to find shelter in Muwasi, due to overcrowding and lack of adequate resources.
“They should provide us with places. There are no tents, no food, no aid," lamented Atwah Awad, a displaced woman from Jabaliya.
Many have been forced on the streets due to lack of space in Muwasi.
She said she has had nothing to eat, and doesn’t have any money to buy supplies or food.
