What is the government doing to address the corruption scandal? | DW News

Seventeen people were arrested in clashes with riot police in the Philippines after peaceful anti-corruption protests turned violent. The protests followed a scandal in which lawmakers and other officials were accused of pocketing large sums of money while awarding flood control project contracts. Earlier, organizers said that over 130,000 people participated, making this the largest anti-corruption rally in the country in recent years.
