The UK, Canada, Australia and Portugal all recognized Palestine as a state on September 21. A day later, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Andorra and Monaco joined them, during a conference on the two-state solution in New York, ahead of a UN General Debate. So, why is the German government maintaining its position as one of the last in Europe which hasn’t taken this step?
