11. SOUNDBITE (English) Yuko Mohri, artist:
“I brought seven different type of installations and all installations have movements, sounds and also lighting and then I also wanted to collaborate with many natural phenomena that already existed in this space, so I hope people can discover so many different views and I hope they’ll spend quite a long time.”

13. SOUNDBITE (English) Yuko Mohri, artist:
“Collecting objects is quite an important period for me, because I’m learning about the history and background of several places. I really love travelling, also I learn from the people who I met during my trips, but also I kind of learn from the objects. Objects have shapes and also history, why the shape is (like it is). For me finding objects is quite important, there are so many inspirations I get.”

16. SOUNDBITE (English) Fiammetta Griccioli, curator:
“Yuko Mohri’s work is an art of impermanence, of chance, and we think this is a very important message today. Her works are not monumental, but they are telling us how little poetic gestures can actually ignite a revolution. And we can see this also in the temporal aspect of her works, they’re readapted each time to the space, they take into account the passage of the visitors, the light of a building, the characteristics of a building and they change throughout the exhibition. So we will never hear the same sound, we will never see the same movement, because this chance element is one of the most important, invisible elements in her work and it obliges us to consider art as also something impermanent, in continuous transformation.”

18. SOUNDBITE (English) Fiammetta Griccioli, curator:
“This is the largest exhibition to date of Yuko Mohri and it reunites seven of her most iconic installations in this show that is entitled Entanglements. For Yuko, this word, speaks really about the interconnections, the interconnectedness, amongst objects, amongst forces and she uses the metaphor of the cable, of the entanglement of the cable as an object that we are surrounded by in our everyday life. And this image, I think, can be very useful in understanding the way she works.”

“This exhibition used the largest space I’ve ever had, and it was a very challenging opportunity for me. I would be very happy if everyone in Italy enjoys the works I’ve created so far in Milan.”
