Italy and Spain have deployed naval ships to assist an international aid flotilla en route to Gaza. According to the activists on board, the flotilla was attacked by drones near Greece while attempting to reach the Gaza Strip.
The flotilla includes about 50 civilian boats, according to organizers, and is carrying a small amount of humanitarian aid, including food and medicine. Among the hundreds of people on board are activist Greta Thunberg and some other controversial campaigners.
