How vulnerable is Germany to foreign espionage? | DW News

In Germany a Chinese-born man has been found guilty of spying for Beijing, while working as an aide to a far-right German lawmaker. The court found the defendant, Jian Guo, used his job to gain access to sensitive information. His former boss Maximilian Krah, from the Alternative for Germany party, is also under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes from Chinese companies. Krah denies any wrongdoing, calling the allegations politically motivated – but the case has caused a political scandal in Germany. DW correspondent Matthew Moore reports.
