"Visitors who come to the museum will find untold stories. This house is full of anecdotes, stories, and relationships that have not been known, that have not been revealed. They exist. They are the relationships Frida has her parents, her sisters, her family. They are those anecdotes that we all have in our homes with our families, those anecdotes of affection, those family anecdotes. You will find all of this in this new museum."

"The family was the close circle of affection for Frida, and I believe that Frida is who she is today thanks to the support of her entire family—her sisters, her father, her mother, everyone. Sometimes people think that, for example, Frida didn’t get along well with her mother, but she did, they did get along. The truth is they had a close relationship, and in fact, let me tell you that the flowers Frida wore—the first one to wear flowers in her hair was my great-grandmother."

"A very prominent piece that we have is in the clothing room. It is the pre-Hispanic necklace. It is a necklace that Frida is wearing in many photographs."

"That tray of poppies is very significant. It is one of Frida Kahlo’s early works. We have it in Guillermo’s room because Guillermo Kahlo (her father) and Frida shared a bond, a bond in character, an artistic bond. They liked the same things. They enjoyed nature, and they even shared a taste for the arts, a fondness for photography."

"I think what’s so special about where we are is museums have become these giant structures and there’s so much known about Frida’s work and her amazing contribution, I think what this does is it combines home and hospitality with museum in a way that invites people behind the scenes and I think there’s something so generous about taking this home and opening it up to the public. So we’ve tried to emphasize that."
