"A Manhattan federal court judge says he’ll rule shortly on whether to toss out the two charges that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was convicted of in July. These prostitution related charges, the defense says, should be thrown out because Combs never was involved in prostitution, they say. They say that when he had male escorts fly across the country and sometimes internationally, to have sex with two of his girlfriends, not together, over a 15 year period, that this was him just filming these things almost for pornography purposes. And thus he can’t be convicted of prostitution related charges."

"Prosecutors say ‘no way.’ This was definitely prostitution. He was properly convicted. They want him to serve several more years in prison. He’s already served nearly 13 months. His defense lawyers filed papers this week saying if he is sentenced, he should not get more than 13 months."

STORYLINE:
A federal judge says he’ll rule soon whether to toss out two prostitution-related charges that Sean “Diddy” Combs was convicted of in July.
Judge Arun Subramanian listened Thursday to nearly 90 minutes of arguments by lawyers over whether the charges were properly brought against the Grammy-winning hip-hop producer. Combs is scheduled to be sentenced next week in Manhattan federal court.
After Thursday’s hearing, Combs blew kisses to his mother, three daughters and three sons, telling them that every hour was getting him closer to freedom. The 55-year-old has been jailed for nearly 13 months.
